About Injera World

Injera World is a list of places where you can eat or buy injera. It covers 2,027 restaurants, cafés and shops in 73 countries.

What gets listed

A place is listed when a source shows that it serves or sells injera. Sources include menus, delivery listings, map listings for Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants, and press coverage. Places we could not confirm are kept off the site until they are checked.

A small date tag next to a name means the most recent source we found is older than 2023. The place may still be open, but it is due a fresh check.

Places marked Shop sell injera to take home rather than serving meals.

What is not here

There are no reviews, ratings, prices or opinions. Injera World records facts only: the name, the city and whether it is a restaurant or a shop.

Where a place has its own website, its name links to it. If it has no website but keeps a Facebook or Instagram page, the name links there instead and is marked Facebook or Instagram. Links open in a new tab. We only link pages we could match to the place by name and city, and we drop links that stop working or change hands.

Every place also has a Map link that opens it on Google Maps, so you can find the address, opening hours and directions.

Locations and distances

On the maps here, each place is shown at the centre of its city; use the Map link for its exact location. Distance search measures from you to each city centre, so a place on the edge of a large city may be closer or further than the figure shown.

How it is organised

Every country has a page. Cities with 3 or more places get their own page. In the United States you can browse by state or by metro area, using the US Census metropolitan area definitions. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are listed separately.
